Symposium

The University of Greifswald and the research project Baltic and Baltic Finnish languages in prehistoric contact financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research are conducting the international etymological symposium Hansakansan kanssa in cooperation with the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald. We cordially invite all scientists involved in etymological research to participate in the symposium.

All lectures will be presented in the same conference room. The symposium lasts from Monday, 16.5. 9:00 a.m. to Wednesday 18.5. 14:00 clock. For Wednesday evening we try to organize a small cultural program. Participation is free of charge. As part of the symposium, we offer you regular refreshments during breaks, dinner on Monday evening and possibly a lunchtime snack on the last day of the event. The international etymological symposium is funded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation, Essen, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Event format:
The conference will take place face-to-face, registration is required for face-to-face participation. Please inform yourself about the corona protection measures that will then apply on our website. In addition, a live stream for the conference will be offered via Zoom, participation in the conference, e.g. to ask questions, is only possible via chat.

This event will be recorded so that it may be used in the media library of the Kolleg. Only the speaker, his/her presentation and the moderator will be heard or seen in the recording. Video or chat contributions are not recorded. A "REC" sign at the edge of the picture informs the participants.
