Greeting Address
Stefanie Drese, Minister for Social Affairs, Health, and Sports in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The importance of gender-sensitive medicine and healthcare is increasingly being recognized in the modern healthcare landscape. Health sciences and medicine have long acknowledged that biological, social, and cultural differences between individuals must be considered in areas such as medical care, prevention, and therapy to ensure high-quality care for everyone. Gender-sensitive healthcare can help ensure that all individuals receive the targeted support and resources they need to lead a healthy life.
The conference "Gender-Specific Aspects in Surgery" provides a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences on this topic. I look forward to informative presentations and many inspiring conversations in a welcoming atmosphere. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and gain new perspectives.
Events like this conference are crucial, as they help overcome the historically rooted neglect of gender-specific differences in healthcare and raise awareness of the diverse health needs of people of all genders.
For these reasons, I am pleased to serve as the patron of this event. It is an important concern of mine to support the development and exchange of expertise and to work together toward a healthcare system in which gender-sensitive healthcare is an integral part of all areas.
Kind regards,
Stefanie Drese
