Das Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg in der weit im Nordosten gelegenen Hansestadt Greifswald ist ein Wissenschaftskolleg besonderer Art. Dieses Kolleg, so bereits der Gründungsgedanke von Berthold Beitz, sollte vorrangig die dortige Universität Greifswald in ihrem Bemühen unterstützen, in Forschung und Lehre ein nach außen sichtbares Profil zu gewinnen, und darüber hinaus auch der Stadtgesellschaft Impulse geben. The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg is located far in the northwest of Germany in the Hanseatic town of Greifswald and is a special kind of institute. According to the original intention of founder Berthold Beitz, the University of Greifswald was to be supported in its efforts to create a profile in research and teaching that was visible beyond the University’s walls. The aim was also to generate impetuses for the town’s population. This brochure gives insights into the work of the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg in the years 2003 - 2013.
