Language contact is a highly dynamic and variable phenomenon, which has become all the more relevant due to the extensive mobility and sociocultural changes of the 21st century. After three successful meetings in Groningen (The Netherlands) and Greifswald (Germany), we are delighted to announce that the 'Fourth International Conference on Language Contact in Times of Globalization' (LCTG4) will again take place in Greifswald in 2017. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald and the great number of interesting paper proposals we received. Organized by the Chair of English Linguistics and the Chair of Slavic Linguistics at the University of Greifswald, LCTG4 will bring together scholars examining language contact phenomena in different parts of the world. Moreover, six renowned keynote speakers will offer fresh insights from their current research. On this website, which will be continuously updated, we would like to provide you with further information on our conference. We are looking forward to meeting you in Greifswald in March 2017!
